The success of every single company, in all industries and of all sizes, comes down to the strength that comes from within – the group of individuals that make up the internal team.
The effectiveness and chemistry of a collective, though, will always begin with the effectiveness and commitment of each individual.
Don't let the lack of collaboration or ineffective communication be the cause of your workplace failures. A business can't expect to partner and communicate with their customers (externally) when it fails to partner and communicate with their team (internally). It should start within, first...and always.
Vince Lombardi (former player, coach, and executives of the NFL) put it this way:
"Individual commitment to a group effort -- that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work."
Here's another way to look at it according to James Cash Penney (Founder at JC Penny):
"The best teamwork comes from men [and women] who are working independently toward one goal in unison."
Safe to say that 'a team' is made exceptional because of each individual team member. So when making efforts towards 'team building' make sure to also place the necessary attention on 'individual building' for the sake of your people's personal growth and wellbeing and your business' internal productivity.
